Sling coming to iPhone?

Electric Pig reports that iPhone and iPod touch owners could soon be enjoying TV courtesy of Sling Media via a native port of Slingplayer.

"iPhone and iPod touch are OS X devices, and we can write OS X apps with our eyes closed. It's coming," said a source at the company.

Yes, of course, there are concerns that AT&T's EDGE network isn't up to snuff, but Electric Pig's inside source is confident.

"We know the 3G iPhone's coming," said the source, "so that'll obviously be better. But, for now, the iPod touch could end up being the best way to use Slingplayer."

Naturally, he's referring to wi-fi and it's superior connectivity and, tangentially, to the iPhone's built-in expense (AT&T contract).

For its part, MacRumors adds that it has learned that Sling is one of the companies that received an early copy of the iPhone SDK.

Moreover, this news would seem to tie in nicely with Apple's new marketing slogan--"There's something in the air"--wouldn't you say?

The mind reels...
