Apple launches Security Research site, blog


Apple has launched a new Apple Security Research site aimed at security researchers and developers. The site offers in-depth technical posts in a blog area, details of the company's improved bug bounty program, and a new research device program. Additionally, individuals can submit a report from the site.

Apple disclosed that since 2016, it has paid nearly $20 million to report security defects. Apple said 20 instances received over $100,000.

Along with the site, Apple announced changes to its Bug Bounty program this week. Apple also said it is working to improve the program by responding more quickly and making it easier for researchers to report issues.

Apple also announced that it is accepting applications through the end of November for its Apple Security Research Program. The program provides and iPhone to researchers for testing purposes.
