Firefox growth stagnation confirmed

Quoting recently published WebSideStory numbers, InformationWeek reports that Firefox (Check out v1.5 beta here) has added just over 1 percent point of market share since April. Earlier this year, Firefox was adding up to 1 percent of market share per month.

In September, users of the leading alternative to Internet Explorer accounted for 7.86 percent of the traffic measured.

This report adds substance to earlier numbers showing Firefox' growth had stalled. However, some of the judgments contained in the WebSideStory study just seem baseless:

"We always knew there was a finite number of early adopters out there and a finite number of Microsoft haters who would switch to something new..."
"The really bad news isn't on IE, but on the other browsers..."
"For many, IE is just not broken."

It would seem many people, including the analysts at WebSideStory, just aren't connecting with reality...

What's your take?
