Firefox market share growth stalls

Quoting figures attributed to a NetApplications report, MacUser UK states that Firefox' growth has been checked. Their write up states the open-source browser's market share dipped by around 0.7 percent to just over 8 per cent.

The saddest news in this story is that Internet Explorer is the largest beneficiary in this change of fortunes. Happily, though, Apple's Safari is also said to have gained two-tenths of a percent to 2.1 (yeah).

Pundits have said that Firefox needs to achieve a 10 percent share of the market in order for the alternative browser to earn the respect corporate system administrators.

In related news, downloads of Firefox passed 80 million over the weekend.
