iPhone: O2 completely sold out
May 8th 2008
Over the weekend, IGM reported that O2 and Carphone Warehouse, Apple's UK partners, had completely sold out of the 8GB iPhone and won't restock an entry-level model until new product is announced next month.
Today, O2 notes on its website that both the 8GB and 16GB iPhones are now sold out: "Please note: 8GB and 16GB iPhone are no longer available."
Like dead space on the radio or white noise on a TV screen, there's one thing companies want to avoid more than anything--nothing. Selling out is OK if you know can get more.
Selling out and then having nothing available for sale, perhaps until mid-June, isn't a tenable situation...
What's your take?
