Guardian reports that O2 and Carphone Warehouse have sold out of the 8GB iPhone and won't be restocking the entry-level model until Apple releases revised product this Summer. A few bullets points from their write up: • Carphone Warehouse has also sold out of the 16GB iPhone — O2 still has stock available • UK iPhone sales have far outstripped those in the rest of Europe • Apple has already stopped production of the 8GB iPhone • (2) iPhone models will be announced at WWDC — A basic 8GB model for $??? — Advanced 16GB 3G model for $499 If true, the UK iPhone sell out would mark a fundamental turn of events in the UK. O2 cut the 8GB iPhone price in mid-April amid speculation that sales were lagging badly. Less than a month later and Apple's UK iPhone partners are faced with zero availability for the 8GB model and a dwindling supply of the 16GB. Perhaps the Germans and the French could spare a few units... What's your take?
