PsyStar clones Xserve

PsyStar, the company behind the Open Computer, has released the latest salvo in their open war on Apple, OpenServ line, which clones Apple's Xserve server product.

• OpenServ 1100 ($1,600, single quad-core 2.5GHz chip) is a 1U with four drive bays that provides up to 4TB of storage and compatible with major server OSs like Microsoft Server 2003/2008, CentOS, Ubuntu Server and even Mac OS X Leopard Server.

• OpenServ 2400 ($2,000, single quad-core 2.5GHz) is a 2U version with up to 6TB of raw storage space. You can have it similarly configured with 8 cores so that you can run even the most storage intensive databases or web applications.

Apple's Xserve comes with dual quad-core 2.8GHz chips and starts at $2,999 and includes four drive bays.

XSERVE PRICEDROP! Apple XServe 2GHZ Quad Xeon now only$1999.99 (was $2994)!

Why no response?

Although PsyStar is in violation of the OS X end-user license agreement (EULA) and in spite of the fact they are altering and redistributing Apple software (ie ie software updates), the mothership has yet to take any action against the Florida-based clone maker.

Why hasn't Apple take any action...

What's your take?
