For months, there has been buzz and confusion over when and where the 3G iPhone would launch. Recent wireless carrier announcements, nearly 50 counties in all, largely put the "where" component to bed, but the issue of when was still open.

Gizmodo claims to have answered that question and claims that it will be launched on June 9.

We all suspected it, but now it is confirmed: someone very, very close to the 3G iPhone launch has told me that Apple will announce their new model at the WWDC Keynote on June 9th.

Everyone assumes that Steve will do the honors and they're probably right. However, Apple hasn't said Steve will keynote and that's different.

They've only said that "Apple executives" would do the honors. Granted, they will "led CEO Steve Jobs," but they've introduced an element of doubt.

June 9? Seems reasonable. Immediate availability? AT&T says otherwise.

Steve? You gotta bet he's getting sick of the whole dog-n-pony show concept...

What's your take?
