OSx86 has DRM

OSx86, a site which bills itself as "the official wiki of OS X on x86," reports that the current beta of OS X for Intel includes TCPA/TPM DRM. It's said that the OS calls AppleTPMACPI.kext (ie a system extension) on boot up and anyone attempting to run without the appropriate hardware won't be able to proceed.

The good news is that hackers believe they have a work around and that the OS itself is available via BitTorrent, so it's just a matter of time before the DRM is hacked.

Previously, Apple had never found it necessary to impose serial numbers, passwords or "activation" in the OS, Classic or X.

I WILL wait for the official release and run it on Apple hardware. However, it's good that skilled people care enough to invest themselves in breaking the DRM. It should never be forgotten that "we the people" run this place and not the corporations (no matter how cool our favorite one is)...

What's your take?
