Guts of the 'Intel Inside' Mac revealed

PowerPage, a member of the gang of three rumor blogs that cynically profit by taking food from the mouths of needy Apple designers and their children, has posted photos of the mothership's new "development box." Available exclusively to Apple Developer Connection premier members, this "Mac of a different color" sells for $999.

Reportedly, this first-ever computer for "the rest of us" to house an Intel processor not intended as a hoax or some 'doze wannabe's attempt at becoming cool is a Mac that runs at 3.6GHz and does so without Apple's G5 (house-sized) cooling unit. In truth, the Intel-based motherboard, which occupies only a small portion of a Apple PowerMac G5 enclosure, looks like a standard µATX form-factor model and appears to include a standalone AGP graphics card.

Editor's note: Seriously, can we just skip right over the managed transition and get on with buying $999 towers running at 3.6GHz? Hackers, developers, etc will handle any substantive issues in no time...

What's your take?
