Four new EU iTMS locations opened [updated]

Apple has formally announced the opening of four new localized iTunes Music Stores--Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. As earlier predicted, the release of iTunes 4.8 has heralded the arrival.

"The iTunes Music Store has revolutionized the way we discover and enjoy music, and is now selling more than half a billion songs per year," said Eddy Cue, vice president, applications. "With iTunes Music Stores now in 19 countries, music fans around the world can enjoy the number one online music service in the world."

Apple's PR also notes that iTMS downloads have surged passed the 400-million mark, which means the company has sold over 50-million tracks in about a month. If the company can maintain this rate, it will sell over 500-million songs this year.
