Woz takes post at storage company

The semi-retired Steve Wozniak will be joining Salt Lake City-based Fusion-io as chief scientist. The company is a three-year old start up with financial backing from Dell, HP, and IBM. Wozniak described his interest has liking the people and liking the product. He also sits on an advisory board for the company.

The company essentially uses large clusters of flash memory for servers. Large being in data size, not physical as the modules are reportedly about the size of a deck of cards. The modules when installed give servers quick access to frequently accessed data, such as databases, rather than hunting over conventional storage arrays.
