iPhone nano coming in June?

Quoting Taiwan's elusive (ie no website) Economic Daily News, DigiTimes reports that Taiwan Semicondutor and United Microelectronics Corporation will likely win chip orders for Apple's long-rumored iPhone nano.

Specifically, the newspaper believes the chip orders could come in March. Given a similar timeline for the 3G iPhone in 2008, it seems reasonable that the iPhone nano could also launch in late June or early July.

Since the original iPhone come on the market in mid-2007, people have speculated about / hoped for the introduction of a smaller handset from Apple with numerous rumored ship dates coming and going, and still no nano. Further, late last year a number of Chinese phone case makers purportedly began selling products "designed for the iPhone nano."

Is this latest news evidence of the real thing? Well, at least it fits Apple's past practice...
