Adobe: No booth Macworld

Company will offer a full day of CS 4 demo sessions...

Macworld reports that Adobe has told won't have a booth on the show floor at Macworld San Francisco next month, though the company will have a presence at the event.

"Adobe has decided to shift its focus at the Macworld trade show this year," the company said in a statement given to Macworld. "Macworld is a valuable industry show and we will still be an active part of it with members of our product team involved in Macworld tracks, including a full day of CS4 demo sessions with Adobe evangelists on Wednesday, January 7."

The show, which begins January 5 and more than likely will be keynoted by Steve Jobs, has been used by Adobe for major product roll outs and announcements, such as 2007's re-introduction of Premier Pro.

Previously, IGM reported that Adobe, along with Apple, HP and Cisco, have put cost-cutting plans into effect with employee hours reduced and temporary workers let go.

[u] Macworld UK adds that Adobe plans to cut 600 jobs in the face of lower revenue expectations. [u]

Editor's note: It wouldn't surprise if next year Adobe made the cut back permanent. Love 'em or hate 'em, trade shows have been in decline for at least a decade...
