MacUser UK adds its voice to reports that Apple may be on the on the verge of sellingg DRM-free music from Universal Music, Warner and Sony BMG. Specifically, selected albums from artists signed to Warner, Universal and Sony have appeared in the Upgrade My Library section of iTunes Plus.

What isn't stated in MacUser UK's write up are which tracks and albums from those three labels are / were listed in Upgrade My Library.

Recent weeks have seen multiple rumors that Universal, Warner and, in particular, Sony BMG would soon release their content in the iTunes Plus format.

[u] Wired reports Warner Music is already offering a number of tracks, specifically Neil Young, in the iTunes Plus format.

Like Sony and Universal, Warner already allows Amazon to sell its catalog without DRM. And, despite a lack of any public announcement, some of its albums are currently available in iTunes without DRM too

Which puts at least one label and artist's name on fresh iTunes Plus content.[u]

Even if the dam gates only start trickling that will not last for long. Sooner or later they will flood.
