Blackberry coming to the Mac

CIO reports that Mac and Blackberry users can be equally fanatical. Actually, they bring us news that Research In Motion (RIM) will improve Blackberry support on the Mac, though it's not clear as of this writing whether that means Blackberry Desktop or partnering with a third-party.

"We know that we don't have an ideal solution for Mac users," a source at RIM said. "It's something that's been on our radar since 2004, at least."

Considering they currently have no solution for Mac users that's a grave understatement. Yet for the intrepid Blackberry who also prefers the fairer platform, there are work arounds available.

CIO reports that Blackberry Desktop does run under Parallels, and that there are third-party middleware solutions--PocketMac ($30), Missing Sync ($40)--to bridge the gap.

Editor's note: Kind of late to the party, don't ya think? The iPhone's eating their lunch and RIM realizes they got nothing for Mac users...
