Rogers extends 6GB data offer
August 29th 2008
CBC (Canada) reports that Apple's North-of-the-border wireless partner Rogers has extended availability of its 6GB data package until the end of next month.
"We learned a lot," said Liz Hamilton, spokesperson. "We were educated by customers by what they wanted and we were educated by customers by what they used."
The $30-a-month data plan add-on, which the company offered in response to outrage over a lack of unlimited data, was set to expire on Aug 31.
When the current 6GB add-on offer expires on Sept 30, Rogers plans to introduce a $25 per month "deal" for 500MB on the first day of Oct, which includes three months of unlimited usage. A second "deal" will offers 1GB of data per month for $30.
To their credit, however, Rogers' data plans do allow for tethering.
Editor's note: Ya, baby! That's more like the Rogers Canadians know and love! Better get on the 6GB plan before it's gone, 'cause the carrier's generosity has come to an end...
