FF3: 15.6-million served [and counting]
June 21st 2008
From D-Day through today, 15.6-million copies of Firefox 3 have been downloaded. That's a significant jump from the browser's first 24 hours of availability, when 8-million-plus downloads were tallied.
And, yes, the pundits love the new version of Mozilla's browser, too.
• Paul Venezia, InfoWorld
-- After an eight-month beta phase, Firefox's major update scores big with unprecedented ease, snappier performance and sensible security features...
• Andy Ihnatko, Sun Times
-- The great browser debate ends with Firefox 3.0
• Mitch Wagner, InformationWeek
-- Firefox 3 is a great browser and huge improvement over previous versions.
By any measure, the folks at the Mozilla Foundation had a banner week last week--the new version of their marque product, Firefox 3, has been critically and commercially very, very well received.
What's next? Perhaps world domination...
