Mozilla has announced the availability of Firefox 3 RC 3 (release notes).
A third release candidate of Mozilla Firefox 3 has been issued with a workaround for a bug introduced in the latest 10.5.3 update of Mac OS X. The problem causes the operating system to hang on shutdown...
Although the problem isn't caused by Firefox 3, the lads and lasses at Mozilla decided, perhaps sensing the carpet bombing brush off, to be proactive and fix the issue themselves. Apple has been notified of the problem.

'Download day' announced
In related news, Mozilla has announced that it will ship, as in no more testing, the final version of Firefox 3 on June 17:
After more than 34 months of active development, and with the contributions of thousands, we're proud to announce that we're ready. It is our expectation to ship Firefox 3 this upcoming Tuesday, June 17th.
So, as previously announced, Mozilla et al are urging everyone to download a copy of Firefox 3 on that day in order to help them break the Guinness Record for single-day downloads.
