Apple cuts iPhone forecast?

Bloomberg reports that Apple's iPhone manufacturing partner, Hon Hai, won't be able to ramp production until the middle of this month. Specifically, the delay reportedly has been caused by Infineon, whose S-GOLD 3H chipset sits at the heart of the iPhone, which has taken longer than expected to fill its orders.

Thereupon, the mothership has cut its sales forecast for the year from 12-million units to 10.5 million, or so the their story goes.

Editor's note: In the blame, perception means a lot. So, if I leak that the problem was your fault before any other info is available, it will look like it was your fault and anything you say will look like denial.

I'm not saying that's what has happened. But when their are billions riding on who's at fault, it pays to take the things you read with a grain of salt.

This news likely won't get digested until after Steve et al speak later today.
