Apple to break 8800GT impasse

When Apple introduce the v2.0 Mac Pro in January, nVidia's 8800 GT was offered as a BTO option that requires a PCIe 2.0 slot to run. This is a driver issue that v1.0 Mac Pro owners have been waiting for someone to step up and provide.

Initially, nVidia said they'd take up the cudgel, but weeks turned to months and still no 8800 GT drivers for v1.0 Mac Pro owners.

nVidia didn't come through, so we're having to do it. Should be ready in about a month.

Though perhaps not the immediate jolt of joy v1.0 Mac Pro owners were hoping for, it's good to see El Jobs taking a positive personal interest in the affairs of the rest of us...
