99¢ rentals on iTunes

Yesterday, Apple shipped iTunes 7.6.1 and with it the iTunes Store began offering a weekly, cut-rate movie rental offering.

On Thursdays Apple will email iTunes video list subscribers which movie will be available for 99¢.

This week's cheap flick is The Hours:

Three women, separated by a span of nearly 80 years, find themselves weathering similar crises, all linked by a single work of literature in this film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Michael Cunningham.

Apple's standard movie rental terms apply--30 days to begin viewing and 24 hours to finish once you do.

Editor's note: Finally, I think the wife will agree to iTunes movie rentals! Assuming iTunes is offering something you want to watch are 99¢ rentals something you'll take advantage of?

Apple TV! Now with movie rentals. From $229. Free shipping.
