iPhone tops in satisfaction

ChangeWave has studied the cellphone business and found nearly all competitors lacking, expect Apple, of course.

Whereas Palm and Moto rank at the bottom vis-a-vis customer satisfaction and RIM (Crackberry) cant be said to suck less than others, 72 percent of surveyed iPhone users say they're very satisfied.

As is their wont, ChangeWave is also projecting future handset sales, saying that Apple and RIM will benefit from the "seismic shift" away plain-jane phones to smart phones. Thereupon, 17 and 15 percent of those surveyed said they plan to buy an iPhone or Blackberry, respectively, in the next six months.

In terms of networks, Verizon and AT&T are still the best rated, although only about 30 percent of their customers say they're very satisfied.

Editor's note: Two things could greatly boost iPhone sales: 1.) a price break, expected any day now; 2.) a 3G version, which could arrive as early as May.

The only other that Apple could do is sell unlocked iPhones, but they're succeeding at that without even trying...

What's your take?
