DoCoMo, Apple talk iPhone

Bloomberg reports that talks between Apple and Japanese wireless carrier DoCoMo are focussed on how to split revenues.

"The handset is easy to use and can open new markets, which makes this an interesting proposition," said DoCoMo CFO Masayuki Hiratain. "We are in continuous contact with the company, but the specifics are still in the future."

DoCoMo, Japan's biggest wireless carrier, has lagged competitors KDDI and Softbank in adding new users since April of last year. A partnership between Apple and the carrier lure customers and end two years of profit declines.

Bloomberg's write up also states that Apple has talked with Softbank vis-a-vis the iPhone.

In mid-January, Insanely-Great reported that China Mobile ended talks with Apple over revenue sharing. Interestingly, the mothership has said that no talks were held.

Editor's note: The world might be a better place if Apple just sold the iPhone to all comers...
