Satire: Gartner, Dell should sell themselves

Barrons reports that market research firm Gartner expects the Mac to double its share of the US and European markets by 2011.

"Apple's gains in computer market share reflect as much on the failures of the rest of the industry as on Apple's success," Gartner says.

You may be wondering to yourself if we're talking about the same Gartner that not-so-long-ago said, "Apple should leverage its close relationship with Intel and team up with Intel's closest ally, Dell."

Yes, they did say Apple should stop making hardware and license OS X.

And, yes, it was Michael Dell who once said Apple should just shutdown. And, by the way, Dell just admitted failure and announced it will shutter 140 retail kiosks.

That said, I'd like to offer a suggestion to both Gartner and Dell--Stop whatever you think you're doing, sell off your assets and give me money back to investors...

What's your take?
