81% of Leopard users 'very satisfied'

ChangeWave has published a report detailing surging Mac sales and reason consumers are making the switch.

Their latest numbers show that 17 percent of portable buyers went Mac and 16 percent of desktop purchasers also chose the fairer platform. Previously, those choosing Mac notebook outnumbered desktop buyers by a substantial margin--that gulf has now largely been erased.

In the days ahead, ChangeWave data shows that 33 percent of portable and 29 percent of desktop buyers expect to buy Macs--that's incredible. Thereupon, it appears that the halcyon days of Mac sales growth have yet to arrive even though Apple has already posted growth double the pace of the industry for many quarters.

Where's all of this growth coming from? Unsurprisingly, Mac buyers are on-the-whole satisfied, very satisfied and a big part of that is Apple's latest OS--Leopard.

These are rather amazing results and point to even more upside for the Mac in the months ahead.

It's worth reiterating that, although Apple's doing a very good job, Microsoft incompetence (ie Vista) is a big part of the Mac's appeal...
