Think Secret, Apple settle

Think Secret has announced that site publisher and Apple have settled their lawsuit.

As part of the confidential settlement, no sources were revealed and Think Secret will no longer be published. Nick Ciarelli, Think Secret's publisher, said "I'm pleased to have reached this amicable settlement, and will now be able to move forward with my college studies and broader journalistic pursuits."

Further, when contacted by the folks at Engadget regarding the shutdown, Nick had this to say:

"I'll just say that I'm very satisfied with the settlement, and that I'd like to thank the Electronic Frontier Foundation and my attorney, Terry Gross of Gross & Belsky, for their support."

Apple began pursuing legal action against Think Secret back in January 2005 in order to force Nick to reveal his source(s) for information describing a FireWire-based input device for musical instruments that never saw the light of day.

Editor's note: Satisfied with being shutdown? Something doesn't seem quite right here...
