BBC comes back to the Mac

BBC has begun offering a beta of its much-criticized iPlayer for the fairer platform. This release allows one to hear / view streamed content.

The catch, and there is a catch, is that unlike the 'doze version Mac users can't download.

The UK government has called for the BBC to make iPlayer platform agnostic.

The final version of iPlayer is to be released on Christmas day.

Editor's note: Back in the early days of streamed content, BBC World Service was available exclusively in QuickTime. The picture was tiny and QoS was shaky, but I love it nonetheless...
