The Mac mini lives
August 7th 2007
Despite many reports of its demise, the Mac mini
not only lives, but has been upgraded.
Here are the features Apple's advertising for the Mac mini line:
• 1.83GHz or 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
• Apple Remote with Front Row
• Up to 2GB memory4
• Intel GMA 950 graphics processor
• DVI connector, VGA adapter
• Slot-loading optical drive
• Up to 160GB hard drive4
• Built-in Gigabit Ethernet
• Analog and digital audio
• Expansion via USB and FireWire
• iLife '08, Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger
Apple's has kept a two-tiered price scheme ($599, $799), though the higher-end model is now $100 more expensive.
Editor's note: Although most welcome, this update in the grand scheme of things is just a speed bump. I still believe that that Apple will release a new entry-level desktop line...
