Google to grab Napster

Citing unnamed music-industry sources, MarketWatch reports that Google is said to be considering an alliance with Napster that could lead to an outright acquisition of the music service. The write up states that Google prefers to have a subscription rather than a per-son like the iTunes Music Store.

In tangentially related news, Macworld UK reports that iTMS is now selling some Comedy Central and Nickelodeon shows ahead of their broadcast premier. The price remains $1.99.

Editor's note: I would prefer Napster dead. There's very little to recommend its continued existence...
