MacBook, Intel iMac Top Sellers at Apple Store

The two biggest selling Macs at the AppleStore currently are - not surprisingly - the MacBook Pro (# 11), which is outselling the iMac (# 14). No other Macs appear amongst the top 15 best sellers.

Previously, the Mac Mini was the big seller, together with iMac and iBook, but the early adopters have clearly been taken by the curiosity surrounding the two Intel-based Macs.

One interesting development is QuickTime: QT Pro for Windows is at #4 on the AppleStore sales chart, two spots above the Mac version (at least the Wintelians are paying for it.

iLife '06 is a big seller at # 1, while the Nanos and the regular full-sized iPods occupy # 2 and #3 slots, respectively - again, no surprises there. The Shuffle is way down at # 13, probably reflecting 1GB model unavailability, rather than a lack of popularity. Just anecdotally, I heard several people at a number of electronics stores looking for the 1GB Shuffle over Xmas, and there were none available. 512MB models there were aplenty.

The question is whether the MacTels will keep up their head of steam. The more sold, the faster Apple is likely to transition the entire model line to Intel.
