Aperture: 'The FCP of photography'

Apple has announced the November release of Aperture, which the company is marketing as "the first all-in-one post production tool that provides everything photographers need after the shoot.

"Aperture is to professional photography what Final Cut Pro is to filmmaking," said Rob Schoeben, vice president, applications marketing and (funny walks). "Finally, an innovative post production tool that revolutionizes the pro photo workflow from compare and select to retouching to output."
?Aperture will be available in November for $499.

Editor's note: This is very, very nice. However, one can't help thinking Schoeben's comparison with FPC is wrought with prophetic irony--Adobe dropped Premier after Apple introduced their own pro-video app.
