Apple releases X.3.9
April 15th 2005
Apple has released X.3.9 Update. Though we'll continue to see Security Updates for Panther, this is likely the last dot-update for Panther.
The spin accompanying this dot-update reads:
• File sharing, directory services reliability for mixed Mac and PC networks
• Mail, Safari, Stickies application reliability
• Third-party application, device compatibility
• Previous standalone security updates
As has become their habit, Apple has also released Combined, Server and Combined Server versions.
Plug--OWC' $99 straight up Tiger discount ends on April 28--the day before Panther's pounce.
Editor's note: Though X.3.8 client was largely problem free for most users, the server version created much havoc. That said, waiting a few discretionary days before applying this update may be just the thing. On the other, it's highly unlikely there will be any follow ups...
So, what are you going to do? Dive right in or hold off?
