Apple event scheduled for April 20

In Issue 437 of the Apple Developer Connection News, the mothership has announced a special, invitation-only event at NAB 2005. Here's a quote:

Apple is inviting select members of the video and film developer community to join us for a special presentation on how to fully leverage Mac OS X Tiger and Apple's hardware product line, and better integrate with Apple's professional applications.

In general, it takes two to three weeks to get a new OS release from Golden Master into the hands of retailers. Various rumorological sources have said the next major release was named GM last week, which would apparently leave just enough time.

Editor's note: A closed event wouldn't seem to be the venue for such a heavily hyped product. Then again, with much of relevant media preparing to gather at NAB and the rest swirling in anticipation of major announcements from the company, calling a press conference on short notice likely wouldn't pose a problem.

What's your take?
