iTMS Oz by the end of April?

AppleTalk.com.au, which bills itself as "The Australian Macintosh community," reports that a branch of the iTunes Music Store will open down under by the end of April. Quoting unnamed sources, the site links to a .jpg showing a cut out of Australia superimposed on a screen cap of iTunes (the application).

Here's a quote:

It's on again. Apple will announce the Australian iTunes Music Store at the end of April. AppleTalk sources have this afternoon confirmed that a date is set for the release, but at this stage will only go as far to say "end of April."

AppleTalk's write up speculates that per track pricing will be as long as A$1.29 and as high as A$1.49. The lower figure given includes a fudge for the recent appreciation of the Australian dollar against the greenback in recent months.

The addition of Australia would put the iTMS in 16 countries worldwide--the US, UK, Netherlands, Canada, Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Finland and Luxembourg.

Editor's note: Previously, it had been rumored that iTMS Australia would appear at various dates both this year and last. Perhaps this train is finally ready to pull into the station...

What's your take?
