The mini is 'inspiring' people

Via the good offices of MacSlash comes the story of two gentlemen with way too much time and disposable income. Taking up the creative cudgel that is the Mac mini are:

Les Ward and his rendering of a media center docking station
lazzwaldo and his real carputer dock

It has to be said that these tinkers are emblematic of the age in which we live, as opposed to less-fortunate people. Whether or not their efforts should be categorized as wastes of time is a question best left to their wives or immediate supervisors, as applies.

Hard work, some liquid capital and not a little luck would be required to make either of these creations into "real" products. Barring that we'll just have to keep drinking Steve's Kool-Aid.

What's your take?
