GeeThree's Sweet Multiport ships

GeeThree has begun shipping its Sweet Multiport, a multi-port tap that makes it possible for PowerMac G3 and G4 users to add FireWire, USB and flash media ports to the front of their towers.

This upgrade requires a PCI slot, but doesn't require drivers. Because of the different front panels used on the B&W and various G4 towers (Graphite, Quicksilver, MDD), the upgrade delivers different sets of ports on the machines, so be sure to check the companies site for compatibility before buying.

Sweet Multiport was introduced at and named a "best of" product at Macworld New York. It sells for US$130.

Editor's note Front-panel ports are among the more convenient and frankly ugly elements of PCs. Should Apple include more front-panel ports on its Macs or do you prefer your desktop more or less pristine?

What's your take?
