Asahi News, not to be confused with the beer of the same name (a single can of which would greatly improve the accuracy of my stories), reports that Tokyo University (where coincidentally much Asahi beer is consumed) is purchasing 1,150 iMacs and servers. Additionally, this obviously erudite institution of higher learning plans (assuming BabelFish can be trusted) to switch from Linux and Windows to OS X-based systems.

Here are the relevant quotes from the BF translation:
o iMac of the apple computer (eye Mack) introduces from March of next year. The present common machine, being gratuitous, the basic software which is open (OS) is the simple personal computer which designates "Linux" as the base, but the fact that renewal period of 5 years is entered making the most of it changes to Mack;
o personal computer system payment, approximately 1150 units become Mack, the server of the basic computer which controls the system large portion becomes the apple make;

My first attempted (beer-free) at this story can be found here.

And, there you have it — unperverted BabelFish translation and all.
