Toast 6 Titanium released

Roxio has announced the release of Toast 6 Titanium. This whole-number update ships with extensive new photo and video capabilities, as well as drag-n-drop, burn and share data, audio, photos and video functionality.

"Consumers have a huge appetite for all things digital, from cameras and camcorders, to portable music players," said Vito Salvaggio, vice president, product management. "Toast 6 helps them do more with their digital life faster and easier than ever before through innovative features like Plug & Burn, ToastAnywhere and the Universal Converters, maintaining the Toast experience that customers have come to expect."

Compatible with X.2 and higher, Toast 6 handles all audio and video formats recognized by QuickTime and using "most" CD or DVD burners, users can author VCDs, Super VCDs and DVDs, complete with menus, buttons and chapters that can be played on either a home DVD player or computer.

Apple Store events

Roxio (and Apple) will be celebrating the arrival of Toast 6 Titanium with "Don't Burn It. Toast It." consumer launch events at several Apple Stores. These events are open to the public and will feature product demos, how-to seminars, and drawings for prizes on:

o Sept 6 at the SoHo store in New York City
o Sept 13 at The Grove store in Los Angeles
o Sept 20 at the Palo Alto, California store

Toast 6 Titanium will be available in early September in North America and the UK and in Europe and Asia in October. Toast 6 Titanium can be pre-ordered now for $99.95 (SRP). Prior Toast, Jam, and Easy CD & DVD Creator retail customers are eligible for a $20 mail-in rebate.

Editor's note: Of note is the $40 rebate plus "free" Koss headphones for those that purchase Toast 5 now. Though the "shopping cart" page doesn't mention a free upgrade to Toast when it ship in a couple weeks, isn't it safe to assume that will be the case?

I've asked Roxio this question and I'm awaiting their response.
