iPad Pro now available + impressions

Apple this morning started taking orders for the new iPad Pro. In a surprise move, the iPad Pro also launched in Apple retail stores. I stopped by to check it out and the employees said they were sent two demo units and didn't expect to start selling them until Friday. Then they got word they could start selling their in-store inventory and the demos units were floaters employees carried around.

Also launched the Apple Pencil stylus and new Smart Keyboard. In store said they were sent a single Pencil for demos and no Smart Keyboards. They said they have no idea when they'll get inventory and have been told to tell customers to order online. This to me is kind of weird since both accessories play heavily into what makes the third version of the iPad unique.

Playing around with it, to me, it's basically a giant iPad. It's nifty, but I'm MacBook boy at heart and basically ownership of my iPads have transferred to others in the family. I thought I might be tempted to pull the trigger on buying one, but I think I'm still more interested in the new MacBook, or perhaps if Apple releases a Retina MacBook Air. For now, I'm still content with my trusty MacBook Air.
