OWC Data Doubler adds second disk drive in MacBook, MacBook Pro DVD bay

The Data Doubler from Other World Computing is essentially a disk drive frame that mounts into a MacBook or MacBook Pro CD/DVD bay. If users have no use for a their optical DVD drive, they may be an option to add a second 2.5-inch hard disk or solid state drive.

The installation will of course require some surgery and OWC has a video demonstrating how to do the install.

The device is compatible with 9.5mm "super slim" drives and the following Macs:

MacBook 13" "Late 2008" 'Unibody' and later models
MacBook 13" "Late 2009" 'White Unibody' and later models
MacBook Pro 13" "Mid 2009" 'Unibody' and later models
MacBook Pro 15" "Late 2008" 'Unibody' and later models
MacBook Pro 17" "Early 2009" 'Unibody' and later models
