Report: iPad may see inventory problems, delays

Report indicates we could expect limited availability, maybe even launch delays.

All Things D reports on a note from Canaccord Adams analyst regarding the iPad launch. It appears there are rumblings about manufacturing issues with the forthcoming iPad. The report says we may see only 300,000 units available in March, and even speculates we may see a launch delay going into April. The problems seem to involve an unspecified production problem. The 300,000 is short of estimated 1 million units the analyst expected to be available for the launch.

Time will only tell. We expect to hear something from Apple in the next week or two regarding a launch date. Apple indicated the iPad is set for launch roughly around the end of the month. (wild guess: 3/26) If we look towards the original iPhone as a historical guide, the iPhone launch date was set just under four weeks out from its iDay.
