Apple initiates repair program for MacBook hard drives

Tuesday Apple launched an extended repair program for its 13-inch MacBook laptops to address issues with failing hard drives.

The program specifically address issues with Apple's 1.83 GHz, 2.0 GHz, and 2.16 GHz 13-inch MacBook laptops with factory installed hard drives of 60 GB, 80 GB, 100 GB, 120 GB, and 160 GB capacities. The problem involves a flashing question mark on on the screen.

Apple tells potentially affected customers to set up an appointment at an Apple Authorized Service Provider or pony up to the Genius bar at an Apple Store. If you're drive is a dud, Apple will replace it with a new unit.
