Best Buy selling iPhone refurbs from $149
January 6th 2009
Reuters reports that Best Buy has begun selling refurbished iPhones. The US' largest electronics reseller is offering the 8GB ($149) and 16GB ($249), and of course purchasing either refurb requires a two-year contract.
"This is focusing on customers' needs, trying to provide as wide a range of products and networks for our consumers," said Scott Moore, vice president, marketing, Best Buy Mobile.
AT&T also sells refurbished iPhones for the same prices. For a short time at the end of the 2008, the wireless giant offered refurbs for $99 and $199, respectively.
Starting on Dec 28, Wal-Mart began selling 8GB and 16GB iPhones for $197 and $297, respectively.
Editor's note: Best Buy joins AT&T in gouging for product that doesn't carry a full warranty, but still requires a full two-year contract.
