Apple to replace some 3rd Gen Apple TVs for WiFi issues

Apple has issued a bulletin to tech support staff regarding faulty Apple TVs, 9 to 5 Mac reports. Issues are limited to only some of the 3rd generation Apple TVs, and if yours is affected Apple will offer a replacement.

Issues involve locating and joining WiFi access points plus dropping connections to the network. The bulletin states Apple will replace units for up to two years from purchase. Exchanges can be performed by Apple or authorized service providers. Affected devices can be identified by the serial number from the graphic below:
