Google's PhotoScan makes it easy to digitize photos

Google released a new app for scanning in printed photos using your smartphone camera. PhotoScan promises to make quick work of the tedious task of scanning photos into a computer. PhotoScan takes multiple photos of a printed picture and creates a single high resolution digital photo. The photo is automatically cropped and adjusted for light glare.

This is brilliant. I've got many, many old families photos literally sitting on an unplugged flatbed scanner. I'm not sure the plan there. Perhaps if I ever get snowed in for a week or break both legs I might get to it. PhotoScan so far is a great solution.
