Verizon shuffled wireless data plans

Verizon Wednesday announced changes to its Verizon Plan. Essentially prices are increasing $5-$10 per month, but Verizon is increasing data caps and introducing a rollover feature. So, while you'll be getting more, you'll be paying more, but you get to retain what you don't use.

- Small: Now $35/month for 2 GB (was $30/month for 1GB)

- Medium: Now $50/month for 4 GB (was $45/month for 3GB)

- Large: Now $70/month for 8 GB (was $60/month for 6GB)

- X-Large: Now $90/month for 16 GB (was $80/month for 12GB)

- XX-Large: Now $110/month for 24 GB (was $100/month for 18GB)

Utilizing the rollover could save some people money if you go over once in a while. Or perhaps build it up for a few months, then reduce to burn it off, and repeat.

Verizon is allow offering a $5/mo service called Safety Mode that will automatically switch you to a painful slow data rate to avoid overage charges. The rate is 128 kb/sec and will be free data, if you have the patiences to still use it.
