Apple plans 'aggressive' Black Friday

Barrons, quoting Barclay's analyst Ben Reitzes, reports that Apple's planning aggressive discounts for Black Friday this year. Although he doesn't give specifics, Reitzes believes "at least a few Mac models" will sell at $100 price reductions.

To be sure, a range of Mac models that are available at discount would be nice. However, given that Apple offered iMacs at up to $101 the sticker, not mention a range of cheap widgets (ie Airport Base Station for $21) last year, one hopes the mothership's Black Friday plans are more imaginative and, frankly, generous than Mr Reitzes imagines.

Thereupon, perhaps $99 magic bags for the first 50 people through the door? Hmmm, that would be nice, too, as would cheap and / or free t-shirts "while supplies last."

That said, the last time it was rumored Apple would announce an aggressive promotion was for back-to-school, which turned out to be a rather sweet deal--buy any Mac and get a "free" iPod touch.

The Sharp household took advantage of the BTS promo and might just be in line early morning on Friday, November 28th...
