PCWorld reports that the uproar surrounding Apple's purported AppStore rejection of Opera Mini was all for naught. In fact, the alternate mobile browser hasn't been submitted to the mothership for review.

"Opera has not yet submitted a version of Opera Mini to Apple's App Store, but may do so in the future," said Tor Odland, Director of Corporate Communications, Opera. "We're confident that many users would consider giving Opera Mini a spin on the iPhone, due to the browser's speed."

With the dust now settling, it appears that the whole affair was an Opera publicity stunt gone awry.
