Apple is at it again with its popular and snarkier than ever Get a Mac advertisements.

Microsoft recently began responding to Apple's Get a Mac ads. Now, the mothership has returned that volley. Perhaps, "returned fire" is a better way of putting it.

However you reckon it Apple's definitely amped up the rhetoric and these two new ads—Bean Counter and The "V" Word—are anything but sparing with the sarcasm, directly lampooning Redmond's latest effort to staunch the Mac's market share gains.

Check them out here or view using the "QuickTime" links below, and then by all means come back and let us know what you think of Apple's latest Get a Mac ads.

Well rounded video dissertation on the strengths & weaknesses of the BEEP operating system. Is it fair? Well considering all the negative publicity about BEEP on the web, it certainly appears to be spot on.

These are the sharpest and best 'Get a Mac' ads so far.

After MS's "ads" with Billy G. and Seinfeld, we knew Apple was going to fire back.

My wife and I laughed out loud while watching these.

MS, get out the Rotorooters, 'cause they's gonna be a lot of bricks clogging up the crappers in Redmond this week!

Oh, I like that first ad. Just put all the money on advertising. That extra cash will also come in handy for Windows 7.

Both ads are going at it like Obama vs McCain. Slinging mud to the max.

Bloody brilliant apple - microsoft will have fits of rage - somebody is actually sticking it into them .... well done apple been waiting since 1996 for something like this ... wooeeee
absolutely in love with this ad Posted by Guest Poster #7 on 10/20/08 3:52 AM

I liked them both. Finally Apple's showing some teeth! I also think Microsoft's "I'm a PC" ads are pretty weak. They don't seem to show where or how a PC would benefit me, just that there are a lot of people that I don't know use them.

Apple spends tons of money to fight a MS add compain, but yet charges you WAY too much money for their new laptops. How about spend less on adds and charge less for the laptops. Very hypocritical indeed.

Exactly - Apple has to charge more for their laptops so we can be entertained by their advertisements.

This is not a problem if it increases their Mac sales. And as we all know, negative campaigning works.

Your post makes no commercial sense at all. Think about it and try to calculate what rolling over the ad budget to hardware prices would mean - and than whether a few bucks more or less would make a difference.

If they wanted to really lower prices they would have to either noticably reduce hardware production cost (e.g. by leaving out essential features like firewire) or cut their margins.

From a shareholder's point of view the later might actually make sense mid-term as they aren't paying any dividends anyway. A cut in margin and hw price would hit the stock short term but mid term would likely boost it due to increased sales volume and market share

Can't wait to see what Microsoft and the Burger King admeisters come up with to respond to Apple's ads.

"I'm a V*Beep* and I've been made into a V*Bzzt*."

"I'm a PC and I wear green eyeshades."
